Virtual Plein Air

Going outside and drawing landscapes is great fun. Weather and other constraints make this sometimes impossible however. Luckily there is a solution, which I found at krita artists. This is to make use of Map Crunch This lets you select random spots on Earth and have a look around there. This can then be used for a landscape study. Of course you miss out having to translate a 3D scene to a 2D image, but it is still lots of fun and good practice.

Here's one a did for a random spot in Indonesia.
